OtherPlay reviews casino brands as part of their operator network. This page sets out what we check, how we weigh it, what we do not do and how a reader can judge the limits of any page on the site.
What We Review
Each page covers a brand and its relations. We identify the operator, map the other brands it runs, and compare those brands on the points that decide a player's experience: bonus terms, wagering, games, payments, licensing, safety and complaints handling.
A sister site is a brand run by the same operator. A shared game catalogue or payment provider does not make 2 brands sister sites. Brands from other operators appear only as alternatives, and each is labelled as one.
The 5 Evidence Types
Every claim on a page rests on one of 5 evidence types, listed here from strongest to weakest.
- Documentary evidence: licence registers, company filings, regulator notices and enforcement dates, and the operator's own terms and conditions.
- Analytical inference: shared terms, shared payment stacks and shared complaints handling, used to draw structural conclusions. We mark these as inferences.
- Aggregated player feedback: review-platform scores, always given with the figure, the number of reviews and the date.
- Press reporting: investigations and news coverage, stated as reports and not as confirmed fact until a primary document backs them.
- Testing: real-money checks of deposits, verification and withdrawals, used only when a logged test supports the figure.
How We Handle Uncertainty
Hard facts are stated plainly. Anything secondhand carries hedged wording, such as "reportedly", "as of October 2026" or "verify against live terms". When an operator does not publish a detail, the page says so and does not estimate. When 2 sources conflict, the page shows the conflict and does not pick a winner by guesswork.
Every evaluative claim carries its basis in the same sentence. A claim we cannot support is removed.
What We Test and What We Do Not
Pages state which checks were made. A page marked as documentary has not involved a real-money test, and any timing figure on it is a published range and not a measured result. Withdrawal times are given as processing and transfer separately whenever both figures exist.
Where testing is logged, it uses fresh accounts, deposits of £20 to £50, identity verification, a withdrawal request and a support contact. Only logged figures appear as test results.
Scoring
Where a page carries a score and the testing data to support it, 5 categories are weighted as follows.
| Category | Weight |
|---|---|
| Safety and licensing | 25% |
| Bonus fairness | 20% |
| Game selection | 20% |
| Withdrawal speed | 20% |
| Customer support | 15% |
Safety and licensing carries the largest weight because it decides whether a dispute can be won. Bonus fairness looks at the wagering multiple and what it applies to, maximum bet, expiry, win cap and excluded payment methods. A bonus figure never appears without its wagering condition.
A page without enough logged data carries no score. We would sooner leave a score off than publish one the evidence does not support.
Network Checks
Because the operator decides most of what happens in a dispute, we check the network as well as the brand. This covers whether brands share a licence, terms and complaints process, whether self-exclusion and verification records carry across, and whether a regulatory action against one brand touches the others.
Adverse findings lead the page when they are material. They are stated plainly, with the regulator, the date and the penalty where one applies.
Licence and Ownership Checks
Licence status is read against the issuing regulator's register where the register is available. When a register cannot be reached or does not show the licence, the page says so and treats the status as unconfirmed. Ownership is traced through company filings and regulator notices. A single directory listing is not enough on its own.
Player Feedback
Review-platform scores appear with the platform, the figure, the sample size and the date. We do not quote player reviews verbatim. We describe the patterns in our own words, such as repeated delays at withdrawal or document-verification loops, and we note when a score rests on a small sample.
Independence
OtherPlay earns commission from affiliate links, and that is disclosed on every page that lists operators. Commission does not change the order of listings or the assessments. Reviewers do not set scores according to commercial terms. The same criteria apply to partner and non-partner brands.
Updates and Corrections
Each page carries a last-updated date. We recheck a page when an operator changes its terms, licence or ownership, when a regulator publishes a relevant action or when a reader reports an inaccuracy. A correction changes the page and the date together. Reports go to hello@otherplay.co.uk.
Limits
No page is a guarantee. Operators change terms without notice, and a figure may be out of date by the time it is read. The pages are research, not advice, and every bonus term should be verified on the operator's own site before depositing. Support for anyone concerned about their gambling is on the Responsible Gambling page.
